This year we welcomed Pierre Burger as our new house manager. A plumber by trade he’s brought infectious enthusiasm to the house.
Siep returned to the Annex and was boosting higher than ever. Eirik from Norway joined us for an extended stay after doing a stint of national service. Alex and Tim returned from Germany.
Max Tullett and up and coming star from the UK flew out to take part in the Big Air Kite League.
We kited, we wing-foiled. We watched Italians dominate the King of the Air. We braaied, we went to wine farms. We went to food markets. See you again next year.
Season 2023 - 2024 review
February 2025 jump leaderboard
Some big jumpers staying at the Club this year.
First on the leaderboard was newcomer Kai with an excellent 19.7m jump - very impressive given he has bene kiting less than a year.
House manager Pierre making solid progress now on 17.3m and pulling high loops.
Then the Dutchies arrived and started going big. Siep broke 20 metres this week.
It is a windy week ahead so expect more records to be broken.
James will be buying a long rectangular leaderboard to make sure he doesn’t get knocked off the bottom.

Good luck, Pierre and saying hello to Cole
At the end of the month Pierre leaves us to move to the UK and join the military. Cole Welch joins as house manager. Here is a few words from each of them. First, Pierre:
“It’s been an unforgettable few seasons welcoming guests, chasing wind and watching the Cape Town sky filled with kites.
Now, I’m trading my harness for a green beret as I join the Royal Marine Commandos. As I pass the reins and muffin recipes to Cole, I want to thank each of you for the laughter, stories, and the epic full send sessions we’ve shared. Wishing you strong winds, big loops and endless adventures in the seasons to come!”

Cole: “Hi, I’m Cole, the new house manager of Cape Town Kite Club. I was born in Cape Town and have lived in Table View my whole life. I was lucky that both my parents loved watersports, so my passion for the ocean started at a young age. When I was 7, I got my first windsurf sail and was immediately hooked. I spent years windsurfing and I still enjoy doing it occasionally but when I was 16 a friend convinced me to try wingfoiling and I haven’t looked back since.
While I’m mainly a wingfoiler, this season I’m excited to improve my kiting skills alongside all of you. My goal is to make sure you feel welcome, settled in, and ready to enjoy everything Cape Town has to offer, whether that’s scoring epic sessions on the water, discovering the best local spots, or just sharing a few laughs and beers after a windy day.
I can’t wait to meet everyone and make this a season to remember!”
